For the first time last week Reform UK came joint first in national polling with Labour, with the Tories lagging behind.

At 25% each, Reform’s and Labour’s vote share would not translate into an equal number of seats in Parliament.

But should Reform start to climb nearer the high twenties, Nigel Farage‘s party would be looking at the largest number of seats in a future election. At 30% or above it would enjoy an outright majority.

This is why recent spats within the party need to be quashed.

Already a rebel group of councillors have stood up against Farage’s leadership, primarily because of issues they have with party management.

Then there is the Elon Musk bust-up, after the billionaire declared Reform should change leader, apparently due to Farage not backing Tommy Robinson.

The truth is of course that party management is already changing with Reform.

The promised move from being a limited company under Farage’s control is already underway.

Meanwhile Farage has shown he will not be ordered what to say regardless of however much money is on the table.

Truth be told, a leadership change now would be a gift to Reform’s enemies, not least in the Conservative Party.

Far from disunity, what is needed at this moment is for the party to pull behind Farage if it is to keep the momentum going.

Things can always change in politics, but if party management is changing and if Farage is displaying authority in not backing down over Robinson then it seems that togetherness is what Reform now needs.

Rocking the boat before council elections could set the party back no end. The momentum is with Farage and Reform. It is time to unite behind a common sense of purpose.
