Reform UK had said that Elon Musk is among a “number of billionaires” interested in donating to Nigel Farage’s party.

Elon Musk’s role in Donald Trump’s new government could make it more difficult for the tech billionaire to donate to Reform UK, reports have suggested.
The Tesla boss, who has been tasked with leading President Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency, is said to have told an associate earlier this month that his new job would complicate his ability to donate to Reform.
Mr Musk has been increasingly vocal about British politics in recent months and appeared interested in giving money to Mr Farage’s party.

Mr Musk met Mr Farage and Reform UK’s treasurer, Nick Candy, at Mr Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida in December.
But the owner of X, formerly Twitter, seemingly withdrew his support for the Clacton MP’s leadership over Mr Farage’s rejection of calls to support jailed far-right activist Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon.
Mr Musk posted: “The Reform Party need a new leader. Farage doesn’t have what it takes.”
Mr Farage had told how he wanted to “mend fences” with the world’s richest man.
Mr Farage, who flew to the US for Trump’s inauguration, would have possibly rubbed shoulders with Mr Musk at various parties while there.
A spokesman for Reform confirmed that Mr Musk had not made a donation to date.
He said: “We have a good relationship with Elon Musk and will continue to do so.”
